passport

So my passport expires in June. I figured I probably need to deal with that sometime soon. But not this month, I’m going to London. And not next month, I’m going to Germany. And the beginning of May, we’re going to Italy.

According to the consulate’s website, I have to call and make an appointment in Lyon. Ok. So I called to make the appointment and was told, oh, no, I just have to send in all the paperwork to the consulate in Paris. All the paperwork includes my current passport. So I have to be without a passport for 2-3 weeks. After it gets to them. So more like a month. And that’s assuming nothing goes wrong. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Maybe I can pay to expedite it. I should have “lost” it before we moved here because then I’d have years before it expires. Doh.

That’s silly, to leave you without a passport in a foreign country for weeks while they process it. If they can fish matchbooks out of a sewer quickly so you can retrieve that all-important phone number, you’d think they could process passports. Maybe you should flush your passport down the toilet in a Paris hotel, then call them for a replacement. But of course!!!!!!

No, no. Sewer recovery is done by the French. Passport renewal is done by OUR government.

I could always “loose” it in my luggage and rush to the consulate for an emergency replacement that’s only good for 90 days…. I know that’s been done…

Since you ultimately need it for more than 90 days, its turning into a rock & a hard place. Unless you’re saying the loss would be covered for 90 days as you send in the real one for replacement, except they’d notice that. Besides, we’ve discussed this on a public website so now they know your plan. We’ll discuss the rest in code. p*(..g joil45 wn&^uu wv+_xxq }{tt That would fix the problem, wouldn’t it. Thank gosh that’s solved.
