Kaitlyn’s ear infection might be affecting her hearing.
Tonight at dinner she asked me how cheese is made. I told her you put milk and salt and other stuff together, pour it into molds, put it in the basement for a couple of years (yes, I was making it up), then package it and send it to the store. She wanted to know what I meant by packages… if it’s like presents.
Bill said yes, cheese is like presents.
And Kaitlyn said Jesus likes presents?”
Kaitlyn is simply demonstrating her heritage from both her Grandfathers. Bill’s Dad loved puns, and I you may recall faintly do toy with mangling word meanings from time to time for comedic effect. She is merely getting a jump on things….there’s nothing wrong with her hearing. Its actually very acute, to extract the nuances of words and recycle them so admirably. Next year I’m entering that race in Spain, where people run amongst bull.
