After our location off the beaten path in Colmar, we decided to spend the extra money (it wasn&#8217;t that much extra in the off-season) and be in the middle of things.   It&#8217;s impossible to be in the middle of everything in Rome, but this seemed to give us a fighting chance.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>ITINERARY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bill likes each day planned out&#8230; from the time we get up until the time we collapse asleep.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what we&#8217;ve got planned:<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUNDAY<\/strong><br \/>\narrive late morning<br \/>\nhop on-hop off bus tour for overview<br \/>\nevening walk<\/p>\n<p><strong>MONDAY<\/strong><br \/>\nmorning &#8211; Vatican tour supposed to be especially for kids. Better be good for the price<br \/>\nafternoon &#8211; Colosseum and Forum (no set tour in advance, we&#8217;ll wing it)<br \/>\nevening &#8211; Pantheon<\/p>\n<p><strong>TUESDAY<\/strong><br \/>\nmorning &#8211; Campus Martius (I found a guide who is a graduate of UNC.  I won her over by letting her know that&#8217;s where Kaitlyn was born.  As long as she doesn&#8217;t find out about Bill&#8217;s sister&#8230;)<br \/>\nafternoon &#8211; shopping<br \/>\nnight &#8211; walk from Campo de Fiori to the Spanish Steps<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote \/>\n<blockquote><p><strong>WEDNESDAY<\/strong><br \/>\nmorning &#8211; Villa Borghese.
